Product of the Month Nikon EDG VR 85 mm Scope
Nikon has revolutionized spotting scopes with the new Nikon VR (Vibration Reduction) line of field scopes. Now birding in the wind, from a vehicle or from a boat is an absolute pleasure! Combined with the FSA adapter and a Nikon camera, this scope can now take excellent HD video and images without the hassle of vibration and irritating shakes. Available in either straight or angled options, the new VR scopes will change the way we look at birds. The majority of the bird footage on Nikon's BATV is now filmed using this new technology. If its good enough for TV its good enough for you!
NIKON'S BATV - YOUR TICKET TO BIRDING THE WORLD!
Greetings!
Its that time of the year again and we're struggling to believe that we are now entering season 4 of Nikon's BATV. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors, supporters and viewers. Without all of you this would never have been possible to achieve! We wish you all a wonderful Festive Season and a Happy and successful New Year.
Season 4 begins on the 26th December 2011 so take note of our new times below and make sure you tune in.
NEW SPECIES OF COLOMBIAN HUMMINGBIRD?
At the end of filming a 3-part series in Colombia, our crew received news that a suspected Bogota Sunangel had been rediscovered after 102 years about 3 hours north of Bogota. We were asked if we wanted to stay on to film it and they did not have to ask us twice!
Daniel Uribe from Birding Tours Colombia and James Currie, host of Nikon's Birding Adventures TV, sped up to try and capture the hummingbird on film for the first time.
Enjoy the brief video that James put together. He's not going to win any film-making awards anytime soon!
