A life-long birder and native of South Africa, your host James Currie has many years experience in the birding and wildlife tourism arenas. James has led professional wildlife and birding tours for over 12 years and his passion for birding and remote cultures has taken him to far corners of the earth from the Amazon and Australia to Africa and Madagascar. He has contributed to several publications, including the acclaimed Southern African Bird Finder. He is also an expert in the field of sustainable development and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in African Languages and a Masters degree in Sustainable Environmental Management.

From 2004-2007 James worked as the Managing Director of Africa Foundation, a non-profit organization that directs its efforts towards the upliftment of communities surrounding wildlife areas in Africa. James has recently immigrated to the United States with his family and currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Rebecca Currie is responsible for the Business Development of Birding Adventures. Rebecca has many years of high-level corporate experience in the fields of sales and marketing. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is perfectly suited to taking Birding Adventures to every corner of the planet!

Birding Adventures is produced by award-winning Aderman and Associates Film and Video of West Palm Beach, Florida. Owner / Producer Jeff Aderman, a world traveler, avid fisherman and lifetime videographer, opened his business in 1992, with the hope of combining all of his life’s passions. Along with producing TV commercials, corporate training and marketing videos, music videos and television programs, Aderman is a key player in producing one of television’s most popular Fishing TV Programs, Reel Adventures and is an integral part in the success of Birding Adventures. He may even become a birder someday…watch this space!

As Marketing and Destinations Director, Laura networks exciting birding destinations from all over the globe for Nikon's BATV programming. She is also responsible for developing our multi-media marketing platform. Laura is an avid birder, writer and traveler and she stays active in the fields of conservation, birding and nature travel. Laura holds an M.S in Aquatic Ecology from Kent State University and served as Founding Officer for the Ohio Ornithological Society. She lives with her family in Rochester, New york and is always looking for the next place to chase birds. Follow her travel blog at
