Well, I'm off to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas to shoot three very exciting shows. But before I head off, be sure to read further down to see what's on BATV this coming week.

THE TV SHOW WHERE BIRDS OF A FEATHER ADVENTURE TOGETHER
COMPETITIVE BIRDING!
Most of us think of birding as a passive pastime but it can also be a fast-paced, active and crazy sport. Earlier this year, the BATV crew the National Audubon Society's Leadership Birdathon in New York City and also the World Series of Birding in Cape May, New Jersey.
Watch out for our upcoming show on competitive and citizen science birding as we follow Audubon around New York to see how many birds they can see in a day. In the same show we feature the World Series of Birding in Cape May, New Jersey and profile some highly competitive birding! Watch as we follow Pete Dunne, the crazy team "Ridin Birdy" and some other amazing teams and individuals.
On this show we also feature the urban Red-tailed Hawks of New York City so don't miss out on this action-packed birding adventure!
The Finish line of the World Series of Birding
Be sure to check out this show when it airs this Saturday morning on your local Fox Sports Network or affiliate network.
CAPE MAY AND THE WORLD SERIES OF BIRDING!
Two hours south of New York City, one and a half hours drive from Philadelphia, lies one of the most celebrated birding spots on the planet: a seventeen mile long peninsula named Cape May, New Jersey USA. Dubbed "The Migration Mainline," and "The Raptor Capital of North America," the Cape's extraordinary concentrations of migrating birds has been known and celebrated since the pioneering days of Alexander Wilson, the Father of American Ornithology. John James Audubon, Roger Tory Peterson, and most recently, David Sibley all studied here.
In fact, the Sibley guide to birds was written here. Millions (yes, millions!) of migrating birds have been recorded in a single day. Over 420 bird species have been recorded since records were kept and it is possible to record over 200 species in a single day.
When birders gather and talk turns to favorite birding locations, Cape May appears on every birder's short list. The wonderful staff of the Cape May Bird Observatory are the organizers of the incredible popular annual World Series of Birding.
