Competitive Birding
Most of us think of birding as a passive pastime but it can also be a fast-paced, active and crazy sport.

Competitive BirdingCOMPETITIVE BIRDING!
Most of us think of birding as a passive pastime but it can also be a fast-paced, active and crazy sport. The BATV crew has just returned from covering the National Audubon Society's Leadership Birdathon in New York City and also the World Series of Birding in Cape May, New Jersey.

Watch out for our upcoming show on competitive and citizen science birding as we follow Audubon around New York to see how many birds they can see in a day. In the same show we feature the World Series of Birding in Cape May, New Jersey and profile some highly competitive birding! Watch as we follow Pete Dunne, the crazy team "Ridin Birdy" and some other amazing teams and individuals.

On this show we also feature the urban Red-tailed Hawks of New York City so don't miss out on this action-packed birding adventure!

About Cape May Bird Observatory
Founded in 1976 by the New Jersey Audubon Society*, the Cape May Bird Observatory (CMBO) is a leader in research, environmental education, bird conservation, and recreational birding activities.

Our mission: to understand and instill appreciation of the needs of resident and migrating birds so that human ambitions do not undermine them. Funded almost entirely by the support of an international membership, two facilities serve our members' needs and interests.

*The New Jersey Audubon Society (NJAS) is a privately supported, not-for profit, statewide membership organization. Founded in 1897, and one of the oldest independent Audubon societies, NJAS has no affiliation with the National Audubon Society.
